Your poignant photo moved me almost to tears. I just had to write a poem about it:I think that I shall never spyA poem lovely as a bridge tie.A tie whose steely rail is prestJust overhead, where pigeons nest;A tie where playful children romp,Then dive and shriek and hit with a whomp;Whose parents whine and file suit,Claiming common sense is null and moot.Poems are made by fools like me,But bridge ties only by the DOT.
I've got a tear on my cheek ... from laughing.:)
I took a couple of pictures with my iPhone in Turkey but alas hadn't spotted the lens was smeared with thick layer of muck so none of them were any good So no poem from O Docker for me :(
I'm guessing his poem (iPhone wants to put "porn" for my fatfinger poem) would have sounded vaguely familiar and gone something like:Turkey is a funny place to sailMakes my head go wobble, wobble, wobbleWhile there, Cap'n JP ate like a snailMmmm, grape leaves! Gobble, gobble, gobble!
I'll pretend I just didn't seeiaThat wanton display of onomatopoeia.
