One More from the Road

Shot over the shoulder with the iPhone on the way back down to Portland. Drive was beautiful!

I wish I had a blog about bridge ties. Then this shot would be perfect.

Your poignant photo moved me almost to tears. I just had to write a poem about it:

I think that I shall never spy
A poem lovely as a bridge tie.

A tie whose steely rail is prest
Just overhead, where pigeons nest;

A tie where playful children romp,
Then dive and shriek and hit with a whomp;

Whose parents whine and file suit,
Claiming common sense is null and moot.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But bridge ties only by the DOT.

I took a couple of pictures with my iPhone in Turkey but alas hadn't spotted the lens was smeared with thick layer of muck so none of them were any good

So no poem from O Docker for me :(

I'm guessing his poem (iPhone wants to put "porn" for my fatfinger poem) would have sounded vaguely familiar and gone something like:

Turkey is a funny place to sail
Makes my head go wobble, wobble, wobble
While there, Cap'n JP ate like a snail
Mmmm, grape leaves! Gobble, gobble, gobble!

I'll pretend I just didn't seeia
That wanton display of onomatopoeia.
